Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 1, 2026

SketchPad (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

1. Information we collect

Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and (if signing in via Google) your Google profile information.

Canvas data: The designs, shapes, text, and other content you create within SketchPad are stored on our servers to enable saving, sharing, and collaboration.

Usage data: We collect information about how you use the service — pages visited, features used, browser type, IP address, and general location. This is used to improve the product.

Cookies: We use session cookies for authentication. We do not use tracking or advertising cookies.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the SketchPad service
  • Authenticate your identity and manage your account
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset)
  • Respond to customer support requests
  • Monitor service reliability and prevent abuse
  • Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data. We do not use your canvas content to train AI or machine learning models.

3. Data sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties. We may share information only in these limited cases:

Service providers: We use trusted third-party services (cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processing) that process data on our behalf under strict data protection agreements.

Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.

Collaboration features: When you invite collaborators to a canvas, their access is limited to the shared canvas only.

4. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you services. Canvas data is retained until you delete it. When you delete your account, all associated data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

5. Security

All data in transit is encrypted using TLS 1.3. Data at rest is encrypted using AES-256. We conduct regular security audits and penetration testing. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and are never stored in plain text.

6. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Delete your account and associated data
  • Export your data in a portable format
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data
  • Withdraw consent at any time

To exercise these rights, email us at privacy@sketchpad.app. We will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

SketchPad is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via email or a prominent notice in the app at least 14 days before the change takes effect.
